Tosin Jegede embarked on an enchanting musical journey from the age of 5, which gracefully unfolded throughout her adolescence. This collection featured an array of inspirational, Christian Yoruba and English-language songs, reflecting a linguistic fluency extending to five languages. By age 14, Tosin's melodious gifts had graced prestigious stages, capturing the hearts of audiences at African Union gatherings for presidents, as well as leaving an enduring impact across Europe and the United Nations in New York.

 

Tosin's musical endeavours took on a philanthropic hue as she dedicated her performances to raising funds for orphanages across Nigeria. Invitations to perform at Christian crusades across Nigeria marked a significant chapter in her journey, with her soulful tunes resonating from Lagos to Benin with Benson Idahosa and Oral Roberts. This period became a transformative experience, as she shared her musical passion at the intersection of faith and art. Her journey continued with a broader outreach, as television and radio interviews across Nigeria, provided platforms for Tosin to express her deep-rooted commitment to making a positive impact through the power of music. Musical Beginnings

From the age of two, Tosin Jegede was immersed in the world of music, inspired by watching her father, a musician, and his band.

 

Her early experiences of miming and singing alongside her father led to her first public performance at just three years old, where she joined her father on stage at a concert at the University of Lagos.

 

Tosin's first solo performance was at the SOS Children's Village in Lagos, where she sang at a fundraiser for the orphanage. This early exposure to music and performance set the stage for her remarkable career.

Children Arise (1985, Recorded at Age Five)

 

At the age of five, Tosin recorded "Children Arise," an album that became a national sensation. Launched by Nigeria's then First Lady, Mrs. Maryam Babangida, the album resonated with its message urging children to be good and obedient and calling on the government to care for the less privileged.

Leaders of Tomorrow (1989)

At the age of nine, Tosin Jegede released "Leaders of Tomorrow," an album that reinforces her commitment to youth empowerment and education. This album was launched by the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Col. Raji Rasaki.

 

Significantly, "Leaders of Tomorrow" was signed to the notable international record label Polygram Records, renowned for signing other prominent artists like The Jacksons. This association with Polygram Records amplified Tosin's reach and aligned her with some of the era's most influential musical acts, further solidifying her position in the music industry.

Children of Africa (1992)

By the age of eleven, Tosin released "Children of Africa," a heartfelt plea for African leaders to assist the suffering children of the continent.

 

This album coincided with her invitation to the "Children of Africa" music concert in Lagos, where she was the youngest child artist and performed for an audience that included Nigerian Presidents and other dignitaries.
